What Happens At Henabel’s Dog Grooming?

Preferably, you arrive 5 minutes before your appointment so your dog can smell and check out the front yard. This is where I’ll come out and greet you.

If you’re running late, I’ll need to be contacted ASAP, because we are by appointment only so we have to adhere to strict times. Depending on how late you are, we may need to rebook.

If it’s your dog’s first time, I’ll have you walk them into the salon and we’ll sit down for a chat while your dog checks out the salon – free to wonder around and have a sniff.

We’ll talk all about your dog and what hair trim or grooming is required. I’ll take my time getting to know your dog because I need to earn your dog’s trust.

If it’s a first time appointment and your dog is calm with you there, then I’ll suggest you stay for as long as you can while your dog is being groomed. If however your dog is super excited and won’t settle then I may require you to step out while I groom your dog.

Our Savel Hydrobath has fresh water going to it for every bath and the water is temperature controlled, warmer for winter, Luke warm for summer etc. I don’t like being cold so if it’s cold outside the salon heater will be on.

There are many different shampoos and conditioners to choose from, so it’ll depend on your dog’s hair as to which ones will be used.

Our dryer is also temperature controlled so again, warmer for winter, cooler for summer.

I’ll take my time with your dog if they are scared. I always strive for the perfect groom, however every dog is different and moves around, so I’ll do what’s best for your dog on the day. Humanity over vanity!!

Unless otherwise told, every dog will have cologne sprayed on their coat and brushed in, I’ll always allow the owner to choose the smell.

I do take before and after pics and little videos of your dog for our Facebook page, please advise if you DON’T want this to happen. I never put personal details just your dog’s name and picture/video.

If you have more than one dog and they all get on, yes you can make an appointment to bring them all together. There are lounges and a dog bed for your other dogs to wait on if they like.

I do not have cages, nor are there any other dogs (besides mine inside the house) present while your dog is being groomed. Hence, why it’s important that everyone turn up on time for grooming and for pick up.

I do have a tendency to spoil your dogs with hugs/kisses (if they’re comfortable with that) as well as treats.

The only secret we keep in the salon is how many treats the dogs have lol. Those puppy dog eyes are my kryptonite and I just keep handing them over, the dogs know this and they use it against me.

Every dog is my extended dog family and holds a place in my heart. xoxo
